Driver History
Dave Ward's interest in Motor Racing dates back to 1972 when he first attended a drag race meeting at Santa Pod Raceway, crewing for Dennis Wheatley's dodge charger team, 'The Devil Rides Out'.
From 1974-1977 Dave campaigned a street class, fully race prepared, ford escort mexico FP15 taking his first ever win in the season opener in march 1976 at Santa Pod. After taking time out to get married and have a family, Dave decided to return to the sport of Drag Racing in 1994. driving a red Ferrari 308 GT4 dino in the Euro Challenge.
In 1997, Dave entered the Ferrari in the Street ET Championship due to the Euro Challenge being disbanded and finished 7th in his class.
In 1998, Dave made the move to Pro ET racing, undertaking selected races in the championship with his new 23T altered car, 'Rampage'. The start of 1999 gave the team great hopes for the season, including a No.1 qualifier with a perfect 'dial in time' of 10.40 sec. Everything was going well with times improving, until disaster struck midway through the Championships, when a little end gave way in the engine and put the team out of contention for the rest of season.
During the winter months the team worked endlessly on the car producing a new bigger and faster engine to take place in the 2000 Championship.
In 2001, Dave purchased the previously owned Dennis Priddle 'Panic' Monza funny car body located in Bromsgrove in a very sorry state. After running the car for a couple of seasons on methanol, with little success, the decision was made to have a new 500 cu in. Mopar engine built by Hauser Racing in 2005.
In the off season of 2007 Dave took the decision to install a 275 bhp nitrous oxide kit, resulting in the car moving to the Super Pro ET class.
After many years developing and modifying the car, we can now concentrate on getting consistancy and start chasing for the Championship.
